Beer was one of the prime income sources for the Church in the middle ages.
Sharing knowledge has helped mankind survive and evolve into the intelligent species he is today. Our tendency to pass on knowledge to the next generation, has made us forerunners of evolution on earth, while the other promising candidate - intelligent mollusk Octopus, stayed relatively unevolved for the past million years due to the lack of it. Art of Brewing, as ancient and intricate it might be; survived generations, crossed continents and flourished into a sophisticated branch of science, giving birth to microbiology, after 15,000 years of it's recorded existence.
